I'm Emily:) Here's what you'll find on this lovely blog: vintage fashion and beauty, retro stuff, typewriters, horses, abandoned buildings/houses, the Simonon boys, The Clash, random tips and tricks, maybe vintage hair styling and makeup tutorials in the future?? Maybe once my hair is a bit longer... and probably lots of other things. Enjoy!

And because I can't seem to find the 'ask' button on my own blog (because I am, for the most part, technologically impared :P) here's the link. copy, paste, ask away!: http://msbhave.tumblr.com/ask

I finally bought some large sponge rollers, which I’ve wanted to do for quite some time now. The two yellow ones are medium sized (for tighter curls), and I’ve set them there because for some reason, that section of my hair always falls flat first. I love the large ones because the end result was a very 50’s style. My only problem with them, as will all sponge rollers, was denting. When I set it, I was thinking of doing a layer of pincurls at the very top to hide the future dents, but was too lazy.

Kind of a 40’s style

Vintage Sewing Patterns

So once upon a time I was working on a muslin for a vintage 40’s coat… I couldn’t get the under collar to fit onto the damn thing so I set it aside for a while. If any of you happened to be following my progress on that, I haven’t quit, I’ve just put it aside for now. This time of year is not really the time to be thinking about coats, so I’ve put it on the bottom of my “to sew” list. Instead, I’ll be working on a pair of shorts and like 3 dresses, so that I can wear what I make as soon as the last stitch is finished. I recently bought 3 more patterns from Ebay- one of which is 1940’s pajamas. Now that school is over, I’ll have time to actually make these things :D
